The SDIS54 (Service Départemental d'Incendie et de Secours – or State Fire and Rescue Service) of Meurthe-et-Moselle covers a population of over 700,000 people residing in the Lorraine region of France. It includes over 500 professional firemen, nearly 2000 volunteer firefighters, and it manages nearly 35,000 operations a year. The administrative entity has created an in-house 4D application to manage SDIS54's personnel management, training, equipment, work schedules, and meetings, as well as resource management including vehicles, buildings, and fire roads.
